Green with envy!

In the fickle world of fashion, colour trends come and go; we’ve been seeing lilac challenging millenial pink as the next must-have colour (coincidentally these two colours are a match made in heaven) and already there’s a new pretender on the block. While everyone has been talking about lilac, green has been quietly rising up the ranks in shades from mint to forest as well as ever stylish khaki. Yes, love it or hate it green is cool again.

When you think about it green makes sense for spring summer, it’s fresh, natural and signifies growth. When it comes to choosing your shade, there are two sides to this colour story. On one end of the spectrum there are soft pastel shades with bolder more saturated shades on the other. While pastels are softer and can be easier to wear, it is the bolder more vibrant shades of green that have caught my eye. They’re both retro and modern at the same time and add an almost sporty feel to your look.

It is universally accepted that khaki is a neutral that suits pretty much everyone but these bolder greens are fast becoming the most divisive shades of the year. However, it is a surprisingly easy colour to wear and looks great on both blondes and brunettes as well as red heads of course. So the next time someone tells you green is not your colour, you know what to tell them!

Still on the fence about it? Below I’ve rounded up some of my top green pieces to inspire you. As always you can go as bold as you dare with a statement coat or keep it simple with the addition of a subtle green accessory. As I’ve said before, incorporating a trend into your wardrobe doesn’t have to mean spending lots of money. Adding one small piece can do the trick!
