Happy Tuesday lovelies! And it’s a sunny one here in Dublin town 🙂
So any of my readers who know me well, know that I am a full blown coffee addict (and self confessed coffee snob!). I literally cannot function until I’ve had that first cup in the morning and I think the quote “first we have the coffee, then we do the things” sums me up pretty perfectly! Fun fact – my coffee addiction started early (when I was about 8 years old) and my granny would give me a cup every day after school. It was all going great until my doctor pin pointed coffee as the cause of my frequent unexplained headaches! Nice one nan!
Since I gave up my office based job a few months ago and started working more on a freelance basis, I sometimes miss the interaction that working in an office brings. I can often find it difficult to motivate myself at home and have found myself more and more looking for communal public spaces to work (or more likely, people watch) in for an hour or two. With the amount of time I spend in cute coffee shops, I really need to restrain myself from posting nothing but photos of coffee on instagram!
Given my actual need for caffeine on a daily basis, finding coffee shops with killer coffee, good wifi and let’s be honest, instagrammable interiors has become my newest obsession. Luckily, Dublin is filled with excellent coffee shops so you are never too far from your next cup of liquid magic but I’ve pulled together my top 5 places in the city where I go to get some work done. So if you are looking for somewhere you can sit with a good cup of coffee and work or just watch the world go by then check out the below.
What are your favourite places for a caffeine fix in the city? I am South side based and would love to hear your recommendations for where is good to go on the North Side too!
1. Clement & Pekoe
Based on South William Street, this is possibly my favourite coffee place in town. The coffee is smooth and the atmosphere is always buzzing. A great place to kill an hour in town people watching, working or reading one of the many random books left on the tables for customers. These guys also do an amazing selection of teas, if coffee isn’t your thang.
2. 250 Square Coffee Roasters
This little gem of a place in Rathmines serves up delish coffee and even better eats and is also a great spot for weekend brunch. They roast their own coffee in-house and their striking blue cups are so Instagram friendly…because what else would you be doing in a coffee shop only updating your SM?!
3. Industry & Co.
For anyone who doesn’t know Industry, based on Drury Street, this is a lifestyle store and cafe selling everything from furniture to gifts while serving middle eastern style food and great coffee. It is the perfect place to grab a healthy lunch in town or just watch the world go by from the window seat.
Located right on my doorstep in the Grand Canal Dock area, 3FE is well known for the quality of it’s coffee. With big wooden benches, it is the ideal spot to park up with your laptop over a delicious coffee. They also serve great food and play killer tunes. Win win!
This is a relatively new find for me, based on Aungier street. With cool Scandinavian style decor, Network has seriously good coffee and a selection of tasty sweet treats. The guys behind it called it Network because they want it to be a coffee shop where people come and hang out. And network I guess!
A special mention must also go to my favourite local spot, Food Game. Here they serve delicious Ariosa coffee and awesome lunch and brunch! It is hands down my favourite spot for a lazy Saturday or Sunday brunch.
Right, I’m off out to grab a coffee and enjoy the lovely spring sunshine!
Stylishly (and caffeine filled) yours,
